What It Means To Be A Republican
The Republican Party is based on five foundational principles:

Limited Government — The federal government should exercise only the powers enumerated in the Constitution; functions better performed at the state or local level should remain there.

Free-Market Economics — Private enterprise, competition, and price signals allocate resources more efficiently than central planning or heavy regulation.

Individual Liberty — Constitutional rights, particularly those enumerated in the Bill of Rights, constrain government action and protect personal autonomy.

Strong National Defense — The United States must maintain military superiority to protect its sovereignty and honor treaty obligations to allies.

Traditional Values — Social institutions such as family, religious community, and civic association serve as stabilizing structures that government policy should reinforce rather than undermine.
How Do We Achive This?
The Republican Party of Portland works to recruit, train and support Republican candidates for local and state legislative offices.
We hold meetings as needed to plan and provide logistical support.
How Can I Get Involved?
We always need like minded volunteers to work to assist in the mission of the party.

We also always need to do some of the mundane tasks during political campaigns, such as mailings, sign placement and other tasks as they arise
We also need to people to step up and run for office at both the city and state level. Portland offers many opportunities for political leadership.
